I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have a
counseling private practice in the
greater Phoenix area.
I believe that each person has, within themselves, the ability to
grow and change. Part of the process of, and evaluation towards,
change can be a positive relationship with an advocate and/or
counselor. I have respect for this process and an interest in
clients achieving their counseling goals.
My counseling style is cognitive-behavioral
therapy, and I tend to be solution-focused and goal oriented.
I have more than fourty years of experience
in individual, family, group, and couples counseling.
Areas of expertise include:
Depression
Anxiety
Stress Management
Life transitions
Single parenting
Communication Skills Training
Incest/Sexual abuse
Domestic violence
Divorce recovery
Spiritual/religious issues
Counseling Military Personnel
Cancer survivors and their families
I received my
Masters Degree in Counseling from
Arizona State University in 1982. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology with a Womens Studies Certificate,
and I am licensed in the State of
Arizona by the Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
I have lived in the Phoenix area for
over forty-five years and have worked for three local hospitals,
in a number of middle schools and high schools in the Valley,
and also for non-profit agencies. I have been in private practice
since 1986.
